Reusable Sous Vide Bag: XXL Clear Silicone, One Gallon

In short: one clear 135oz silicone bag that replaces a drawer of vacuum bags. It is big enough for a whole chicken or a family-size roast, it has cup, ounce and milliliter marks so you can portion marinade, and it goes from the water bath to the dishwasher and back.

How to sous vide with it

  1. Stand the bag up on its flat base and add the food and marinade. The marks on the side tell you how much liquid you added.
  2. Lower the open bag into the water. The water pressure pushes the air out.
  3. Seal it just above the waterline, sliding firmly from one edge to the other.
  4. Clip the top of the bag to the side of the pot so it stays upright.
  5. When it is done, empty it and put it on the top rack of the dishwasher.

What fits in one bag

Cook Fits
Whole chicken A whole rotisserie-size chicken
Roasts A family-size roast or a small brisket, with the marinade
Steaks and chops Several at once for a family dinner
Batch meal prep A week of chicken breasts

Why silicone instead of vacuum bags

  • Reusable for years instead of one cook and the trash.
  • No sealer needed. The water does the work.
  • Wide temperature range, from the freezer to boiling water, microwave and oven.
  • Clear walls so you can check the food without opening the bag.
  • BPA-free food-grade silicone, no plastic taste.

Common questions

Does it float in the water bath?

Press out the air as you lower it in and clip it to the side of the pot. If it still floats, add a spoon or a sous vide weight inside the bag.

Is the seal really leakproof?

Yes, when it is closed along its full length. The seal is deliberately stiff, which is what keeps liquid in. If it freezes shut, run it under warm water for a few seconds.

How big is it?

135oz, about one gallon or 4 liters.
