Big-Batch Infused Lemonade & Sangria
Party drinks are a numbers game: you need a gallon, and you need the fruit to infuse. A gallon bag does both, holding a full batch of lemonade or sangria while sliced fruit steeps right in the liquid. The XXL Clear bag is perfect because you can watch the fruit color bleed into the drink and judge when it is ready. The large size is exactly what a party calls for, with a non-alcoholic lemonade version and a sangria version below.
What you need
- Lemonade version: 2 cups fresh lemon juice, 1 to 1.5 cups sugar, 12 cups cold water, sliced lemons, berries, mint
- Sangria version: 2 bottles red or white wine, 1/2 cup brandy (optional), 1/4 cup sugar, 2 cups juice or soda, sliced oranges, apples, berries
- 1 XXL Silicone Food Storage Bag (Clear)
Directions
- For lemonade, stir the lemon juice and sugar together until the sugar dissolves, then add to the Clear bag with the cold water and sliced fruit and mint.
- For sangria, combine the wine, brandy, sugar, and juice in the bag, then add the sliced oranges, apples, and berries.
- Press out the air and seal the leakproof zipper. Lay the bag flat in the fridge.
- Infuse 2 to 12 hours. Through the Clear bag you can watch the fruit color spread through the drink.
- Taste and adjust: add water or sugar to lemonade, or a splash of soda to sangria, before serving.
- Pour over ice straight from the bag, or transfer to a pitcher or dispenser with the fruit.
Tips and notes
- More infusing time means deeper fruit flavor and color; even two hours makes a difference.
- Add delicate herbs like mint near the end so they stay fresh and do not turn bitter.
- Keep the bag flat and cold so the fruit stays submerged and infuses evenly.
- For a kid-friendly batch, make the lemonade version and skip the wine entirely.

Common questions
- How long should sangria or lemonade infuse
- Two to twelve hours. A couple of hours adds noticeable fruit flavor; overnight makes it deep and well-blended. Watch the color through the Clear bag.
- Can I make a non-alcoholic version
- Yes. The lemonade version is alcohol-free, and you can infuse it the same way with sliced fruit and mint for a crowd.
- Why infuse in a bag instead of a pitcher
- The bag keeps the fruit fully submerged and lays flat to save fridge space, and the gallon size makes a whole party batch at once.
- Is a gallon bag too big for drinks
- For a party it is exactly right, making a full batch in one go. For smaller amounts you use part of the bag, and the same one handles cold brew or brining the rest of the time.
